This time last year, somebody says the name "Sam Nixon" or "Mark Rhodes", what would you say?
of course, everybodys reaction would be the same, who the hell are they? But, in that year, the question has been answered. The whole nation all now know these names, and they are quickly on their way to becoming a highly succesful duo, perhaps the most succesful since the infamous reign of PJ & Duncan, way back in 199something!
And, we all know that none of this would have happened with out the phenomenal, award winning hit show- Pop Idol.
THE SEARCH FOR A STAR.............
It's a hot summers day, in August 2003. A normal day for most of us, but not for the 20,000 hopefuls, who all believe that they could be the next Pop Idol. Thats right, its the start of Pop Idol 2003, the sequel to last years 'search for a star' hit show, which as we all know, dug out the likes of Will Young and Gareth Gates. It looks like it may be pretty much the same as last year- same judges, same locations and those same cheeky chaps they get to present the show. The only difference, is that this time round there are DOUBLE the amount of contestants. So, does that mean- double the amount of good auditionees, and double the amount of bad (because we all know only to well, that there were a fair few of those last time round!)? Well, the answer to that question doesn't really matter any more, because as well as getting our weekly dose of entertainment, watching truly terrible performances, from the likes of Daniel the stalker and Hayley, the girl who sounded like she swallowed a sheep, we- the nation, found 12 magnificent Pop Idols to battle it out for the number one prize. Two of these contestants, turned up to the auditions on that same August day in 2003, one who went by the name of "Sam" and the other "Mark". And, although neither of them won the show, they both went on to do bigger and better things, and this website is a small dedication to the lads that we all know and love as the gorgeous cheeky, but nonetheless talented guys, from somewhere up North!
